Since launching in Darwin in 2010, Slappas Thongs have grown from a local favourite to one of the most trusted Australian-owned thong brands. 2010
Mindil Beach Sunset Markets
We've been supporting soles since 2010 when we launched Australia's first arch support thong brand, Slappas Thongs. From our humble beginnings at the Mindil Beach Sunset Markets in Darwin, we've grown step by step.
2013
Ted from Portland
After our success at the markets, we launched Slappas online and on 8th November 2013 at 10.51am, we sold to 6 pairs of our arch support thongs to Ted from Portland.
2014
1000 pairs of slappas
After just four years in business, we sold our 1000th pair of Slappas. It turns out a lot of people need good quality arch support thongs and word of mouth was spreading.

ROYAL RECOGNITION
On 7th July 2014, we received a letter from Kensington Palace. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge had written to thank us for the Slappas we gave them. This memory is one of our favourites from the Slappas highlight reel.

Telstra Business Women’s Awards
Our 5-star reviews and unmatched quality earnt Slappas the name of the best arch support thongs in Australia, and in 2016, we were Finalists in the Telstra Business Women’s Awards for the Entrepreneur Award.

In 2020 we celebrated a decade of Slappas with our 10th birthday.

slappas on the catwalk
Slappas went from the sidewalk to the catwalk in 2022 with our first appearance at Australian Fashion Week in collaboration with Australian designer Karla Špetić.

SLAPPAS IN STYLE
Slappas was becoming the most fashionable thongs brand on the market and in 2022 we collaborated with Ilma Ali on her VEINS fashion show.

our 2nd AAFW appearance
Australian designer Karla Špetić loved the last Slappas AAFW impact so much that we collaborated again in 2023 for our 2nd Australian Fashion Week appearance.

Darwin Festival
We're all about supporting our Darwin small business community so in 2023, we were part of the Darwin Festival 'Flowers Under Water' collaboration with with Ilma Ali, Ossom, Freyzzy and Black Cat Couture.

Melbourne Fashion Festival
Slappas continues to age gracefully and after nearly 15 years of being Australia's favourite arch support thongs, we featured on the runway alongside ethical and sustainable Melbourne fashion brand, Alpha60.
